Turnscribe is operated by Jesus G, an individual/sole trader ("we", "us"). By using Turnscribe ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Turnscribe is a free online tool that transcribes audio and video content from public URLs using OpenAI Whisper AI. No account or payment is required to use the basic service.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
You are solely responsible for the URLs, files, and any other information or material you submit to the Service ("Submitted Content"), including its legality, accuracy, and the purpose for which you submit and use it and any resulting transcription. Turnscribe does not review, monitor, verify, or endorse Submitted Content, the purpose for which it is used, or the resulting transcription output, and does not claim ownership of any of it. By submitting content, you represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to submit it and to have it transcribed. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Turnscribe assumes no responsibility or liability for Submitted Content, for the purpose or lawfulness of your use of the Service, or for any transcription output generated from Submitted Content. The transcription output is provided for your personal or professional use.
Turnscribe is offered under different plans, each with its own duration limit per transcription, file upload size, and monthly transcription count:
Exact current limits for each plan are always listed on our Pricing page, which takes precedence if it ever differs from this page.
Duration limit: if the content you submit is longer than your plan's per-transcription limit, Turnscribe will transcribe only the portion up to that limit rather than rejecting the request outright; the result will indicate that the transcription was shortened due to your plan's limit.
File size limit: uploads exceeding your plan's file size limit are rejected before processing; you'll need to compress the file or upgrade your plan to submit it.
Monthly count: any transcription that completes successfully -- including one shortened for exceeding your plan's duration limit -- counts as one transcription toward your monthly count. Failed or errored attempts do not count. Once your monthly count is reached, you may purchase additional, non-expiring transcriptions as an add-on, or upgrade your plan, to continue transcribing that month. Monthly counts reset at the start of each calendar month.

API access requires a Basic or Pro account and is subject to the same per-transcription duration limit and monthly transcription count as your plan (see Section 4). If you use the Turnscribe API, you must:
API keys that are not linked to an account are limited to 15 minutes of audio per request. If you need more, please contact us at [email protected].
We reserve the right to revoke API keys that are misused or shared publicly.
Paid plans (Basic or Pro subscription) and add-on transcription packs are billed through Polar Software, Inc. ("Polar"), our reseller and Merchant of Record, who handles payment collection, invoicing, and sales tax/VAT where applicable. Polar's own buyer terms also apply to your purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled from Plan & Billing in your account. See our Refund Policy for cancellation and refund terms.
Turnscribe is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without prior notice.
The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that transcriptions will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. Transcription accuracy depends on audio quality, background noise, and language complexity.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Turnscribe and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Turnscribe and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) the URLs, files, or other Submitted Content you provide to the Service; (b) your use or misuse of the Service; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any rights of a third party, including intellectual property, privacy, or platform terms of service.
Turnscribe processes content from third-party platforms (YouTube, TikTok, etc.). We are not affiliated with these platforms and are not responsible for their content, availability, or terms of service. You are responsible for complying with the terms of any platform whose content you submit.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
